We are just wrapping up our Terry Fox day activities and with that the end of September. We'll have a tally of our fundraising to report to you next week as donations are still coming in. The day was a good spirit day for the school, it was great to see so many of our students walking together along the canal and through the neighbourhood. We finished off the day with a soccer match between members of our boys' soccer teams and the Pius Legends, players from previous years. The alumni came out on top showing our student-athletes they've still got it! Thank you to our Student Council, led by Katie and Morgan and supervised by Mr. Bourguignon and Ms. Humphries, who coordinated all of our Terry Fox activities. The Homecoming Dance on Thursday evening was a great success with over 190 students coming out to dance and socialize together in a great spirit of fun. Profits from the dance will go to our Terry Fox fundraising.
Our fall sports teams are up and running but I also want to remind you that there are lots of clubs that your daughter/son could get involved in:
-the Art Club meets every Wed and Thurs after school
-the Social Justice club meets every Friday at lunch
-we are running an Alpha course in the chapel (they have met once so far)
-the Science Club meets every second Tuesday
-HUGS (our Safe and Inclusive schools group) has begun meeting
-the Gaming club meets every Friday
-intramurals have started
Information about all of these can be found in the daily announcements which are posted on our website each day.
A reminder that student fees, consent forms and information sheets are all due this coming Thurs Oct 6. Please contact the main office if you have any questions about any of these. Next Friday, Oct 7 is a PD day and Monday, Oct 10 is the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Have a great weekend!
