Principal's e-letter Jan 20/17

Dear parent/guardian,

Mon Jan 23 is the last day of classes in Semester One.  If your son/daughter is at school they are expected to be in all their classes.  Exams begin on Tues Jan 24 and start at 9:00 am each day. The full exam schedule has been posted on our website.  Exam days are Tues Jan 24 to Fri Jan 27.  Mon Jan 30 is a pd day and the inclement weather day is Tues Jan 31.   Semester 2 classes will begin on Tuesday Jan 31 (unless it is the inclement weather day).  Please note that there is no cafeteria service during the exam days.
A reminder that if you received an Immunization notice from Ottawa Public Health you are encouraged to follow up on it and get your son or daughter's immunizations or their paperwork up-to-date.  Please contact them at 613-5580-6744 or if you have any questions.  Potential suspension notices have been sent out by Ottawa Public Health.  These would take effect on Feb 8 if immunization paperwork is not complete.  You are encouraged to get this taken care of.  We want to keep the kids in school!  
Parents of students in Grade 12 a reminder that applications to Ontario universities were due Jan 11 and to Ontario colleges by Feb 1.  Students or parents with any questions should contact their guidance counsellor.  As well information is now available about government assistance to support post-secondary education, this is known as OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program).  Check out their website for information.  The government has put aside more money to help support students attending college or university.

The school board's parent association, CSPA, continues to sponsor parent information sessions:

We are beginning our planning for the next school year.  On Wed February 15 we will have a Parent Information Night.   More details will come out later and the presentations will be posted on our website.  There will be two presentations: 6:15 - 6:45 for parents of students going into Gr. 10 - 12 and at 7:15 for parents of students going into Gr. 9 and newcomers to our school.  You can also check out the school board website for detailed information about program pathways and course selection.
