Dear parent/guardian,

We have come to the end of the 2016-17 school year!

SPX summer office hours will be: 8:00 to 2:30 (summer school will be here starting July 5 but they are on their own schedule).

Final report cards will be available for pickup starting Monday July 10.  Come to the main office.  If your son/daughter has an outstanding textbook please bring these along to get that cleaned up.

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2017.  The ceremony on Wednesday was really enjoyable, a nice celebration of a good group of students, the next generation of "Xmen Alumni"! Thanks to all parents and family who came to support their son/daughter and to all the staff who were involved in organizing this event.
In the coming weeks you will notice construction starting at the intersection of Fisher and Dynes.  The intersection is being rebuilt and sewers are being replaced along Dynes.  This may cause disruption to traffic.  We are working with the city and the contractor to ensure that students are safe when they return in September.  As information becomes available it will be shared with you.

Bus transportation information will be available as of August 20 on the OSTA website .  Presto passes will be available near the end of August for those who are eligible.  Check the website and listen for a synervoice phone message with specific dates and times for pickup.

If you have another son/daughter that will be coming into Grade 9, a reminder that there will be a Welcome BBQ on Thursday August 31.  Details will be available in August.

Finally I would like to extend a warm welcome to next year's administrative team: Mrs. Alex Belloni, Principal, Mr. JP Clouthier, Vice-Principal and Mrs. Barb Arnold, Vice-Principal (returning for her third year at SPX).  It has been a pleasure working at Pius these past five years.  It was great to come back to the school that I graduated from and have a chance to work with a great community, staff, students and parents.

Have a good summer!
